The Ancient Biblical Hebrew word translated as “commit” is also the Hebraic verb galal (Strong’s #1556), which Strong’s dictionary defines as “to roll (literally or figuratively)” and in the KJV Bible this word is translated as commit, remove, roll (away, down, together), run down, seek occasion, trust, wallow.
‘As a mother & father delights in their children's happiness, the child ‘rolls’ into their parents hands; likewise, we as sons & daughters of Yahweh are the Father’s delight, He delights in us because we are in the palm of His hands.
Never forget, the Ancient Biblical Hebrew language is a concrete language, as well as, the first and original language that Yahweh & Adam spoke in the Garden of Eden. This is also the language that all of humanity spoke until the Towel of Babel; when God Himself confused the earth with various languages because of man’s wickedness towards heaven. So to really understand the concreteness meaning of this word, let us look at some simple bible verses that uses this words in a concrete way; aka, in actions and truthfulness.

So, why did the translators [ and transliterations ] translate this word meaning “to roll” as “commit” in Psalm 22:8?
From a American way of speaking and/or thinking, to say we… “roll over to Yahweh” is not how we speak in regular American English. English is very popular in the world today, so British, Canadian, Austrian, and African English all have their one unique way of speaking English; or cultural or heritage dialects. Just as African-Americans are not British; and British are not Americans. , so translators and the transliterations are subject to individual and cultural biases as well. In other words, English translators translated these concrete words into a more understandable words; in an effort to be “more comfortable” with the biblical verse, scripture of biblical poetry. Most of Psalms are poetic psalms of praises & worship to Yahweh-Yah..
Now let’s take a look at the word “delight.” This is the Hebrew verb hhapheyts (Strong’s #2654), which Strong’s defines as “properly to incline to; by implication (literally but rarely) to bend; figuratively to be pleased with, desire.” The KJV translates this word as delight, please, desire, will, pleasure, favour, like, move and would. All of these words are abstract, with the exception of “move,” so let’s take a look at the verse where the word hhapheyts is translated as “move.”
He moveth his tail like a cedar: the sinews of his stones are wrapped together. (KJV, Job 40:17)
In the book of Job is also a ancient book with ancient verses. Scriptures and bible verses. Remember, God gave Job a snapshot of His heavenly creation, specifically when Job was confused about why God let Satan do evil in the earth and why God let humanity use their own freewill to serve an all-knowing and a all powerful God. In short, God told Job love does not kidnap, love does not deceive, love does force people to do this; or that. God’s love is always predicated on our freewill to serve Him in truthfulness and in actions of love in our own free will. God Himself, hates slavery, bondage, yokes, hindrances. This is why, we can serve Him in truth and actions without any evil intentions or motives of bondage.

In other words, Ancient Biblical Hebrew wordss are often used in a figurative sense, except in the book of Job, where the vocabulary is more frequently used in a concrete way and is very useful in uncovering the concrete meaning of a word.
This word apparently means “to wag,” like a dog does with his tail when it is excited, and figuratively this word means “to be delightfully happy.” Because this word is a synonym with galal, we can conclude that galal more literally means “to roll over in excitement.”
Now that we understand the Hebrew words galal and hhapheyts, let’s put the concrete meanings of these words into Psalm 22:8
Roll thyself over to Jehovah; Let him deliver him: Let him rescue him, seeing he wags in him.
By interpreting the Bible this way, we can better see into the mind, culture and philosophy of the Ancient Hebrew people.
